Ralph Vaughan Williams - Suite for Viola and Chamber Orchestra (1936)

Bach’s solo Suites are the cornerstone of repertoire for string players. Centuries later, two British composers pay homage to the structure of Bach’s suites using multiple dance movements - Imogen Holst takes an introspective approach while Vaughan Williams revels in lush lyricism.
