Come “Seize they Day” with us this Fall as we put on the Disney hit classic, Newsies JR.! Inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies JR. features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein.

When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys' expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what's right.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

We offer classes each session ( Fall & Winter/Spring) for 2nd-10th graders in our skills and performance based afterschool programs.

Our very popular afterschool program focuses on putting together a show in a 5 week intensive format that emphasizes building our actor’s tool boxes with vocal, staging and choreography as well as games & warm-ups. We have a whirlwind of fun and each class gets to present their show over one weekend.

FINANCIAL AID. Throckmorton Theatre strives to offer Financial Aid to the best of our abilities. Please first go through the enrollment process before applying for FA. When enrollment opens, enroll in the class of your choice and, select the $60 financial aid deposit option on the sign-up form. Submit the financial aid application when prompted. If you are not eligible for financial aid then full fees will apply.
