The Hot Licks return to 142 Throckmorton Theatre for a swinging birthday celebration honoring the life, music, and unmistakable spirit of the legendary Dan Hicks!
A true musical original, Dan Hicks blended jazz, folk, swing, country, and a healthy dose of irreverent humor into a sound entirely his own. Featuring original members of Dan's backing band, The Hot Licks continue to carry the torch for his extraordinary musical legacy, bringing his beloved songs to life with the signature sound, spirit, and playful chemistry that made his music so unforgettable.
This special birthday bash features special guest Brian Godchaux, along with a few surprises, for an evening of musical memories, swinging grooves, and plenty of Hicks-ian humor.
Come raise a glass, tap your toes, and celebrate the enduring music and wonderfully eccentric genius of Dan Hicks. It's a birthday party you won't want to miss!
